Welcome Pastor Paul!
On Reformation Sunday, October 27, we have the special privilege and blessing to welcome the Pastor Paul and his family to St. Mark’s and install Paul as our new Senior Pastor.
Pastor Paul will be installed at each service on Sunday, October 27 and a "Taste of Iowa" potluck will follow at 12 pm. Bring a salad or side dish to share. The church will provide meat, dessert, and table service. Join us in welcoming Paul and his family to St. Mark's!
Thank you Pastor Dean!
Sunday, October 27 will be Interim Senior Pastor Dean Hess’ last Sunday at St. Mark’s. He will officiate at Pastor Paul’s Installation and preach his final sermon. We will be collecting thank-you cards for Pastor Dean. Look for the Treasure Chest in The Crossings. and write him a thank-you note for his service and guidance during this important transition in the life of St. Mark’s Lutheran Church.
Sunday Adult Bible Study
Our Adult Bible Study will focus on the book of Ruth. Pastor Steve will guide us through the first two chapters this morning and the final two chapters on September 27th. We meet in The Compass Room at 9:45 and 11:00 am.

Serve the City Evening
St. Mark's is a member of Serve the City, a coalition of 39 churches in the Cedar Rapids area, whose mission is to visibly demonstrate the love of Christ to the Greater Cedar Rapids area through collaborative prayer, care, and share efforts. The 13th annual "Serve the City Evening of Worship & Prayer" will be Sunday, October 20 from 5:57 to 7:30 at New Covenant Bible Church.

Upcoming Piano Concerts
You can hear two well-known pianists play the new Steinway piano next month in Faith. On Sunday, October 20 at 2 pm, Chuck Michaelson will play and on Friday, October 25 at 7 pm, Rebecca Penneys will hold a concert and masterclass.

Mission of Hope

All Saints Sunday
On Sunday, November 3, we will be featuring a video remembrance of loved ones who have passed away since last November. Please submit the name of your loved one, their relationship to you, date of death and a photo to Carol at email@example.com by October 25.
Saturate is Complete!
Nearly 300 people helped package and deliver Saturate materials, helping to share the Gospel with over 10,000 homes in Marion! A huge thank you to everyone who served on the Saturate Team and ALL who helped in any way! If you have not received a Saturate packet on your door, please stop by one of the information centers and pick one up.
Open Prayer Meetings Every Thursday
Come and pray for our congregation and ministries! All are invited to join and experience the Open Prayer Meeting every Thursday from 12:00 to 12:45 pm in the Prayer Room in the South Hallway.
