UCI began in February of 2005 with Pastor JeanJean and Kristie Mompremier's God-driven desire to raise up, train, and equip a new generation of pastors in the village of Caiman. From these small beginnings, the gospel turned a small village that was predominantly Haitian vodou into a unified community. UCI ministries include a seminary, elementary school, 7 nutrition centers, a church, and a greenhouse, among other things. Rev. JeanJean and Kristie (pictured below) were our guest speakers at worship on September 13, 2015.
During Lent of 2015, St. Mark's members contributed more than $100,000 to build a medical clinic at UCI (photos below). During 2016, we designated our special Lenten offerings to meals for Haiti; more than $55,000 was raised and over 227,000 meals were packaged.
Below are recent photos of the clinic construction. The first two photos are from Dec. 2015.
